Ponche Kuba Refreshes Its Look, Keeps Its Classic Caribbean Spirit

Ponche Kuba Unveils New Packaging

The beloved Caribbean rum cream Ponche Kuba is stepping into a new era, unveiling a sleek new bottle and label design that modernizes the brand while honoring more than 70 years of tradition. The rebrand rolls out this month across select markets, including the Caribbean and the United States.

Originally founded in 1942 by Caribbean merchant Don Jaime A. J. Sprock, Ponche Kuba has long been celebrated for its smooth, creamy texture and rich, spiced sweetness. While the recipe remains untouched, the bottle now tells a more contemporary story — one rooted in the same warmth, color, and cultural pride that define the Caribbean.

The refreshed design reduces the bottle’s weight by 80 grams, cutting CO₂ emissions by more than 24% per case, a nod to Ponche Kuba’s growing commitment to sustainability. The new label fuses bold tropical motifs with the brand’s signature red, creating a vibrant look that feels festive, premium, and unmistakably Caribbean.

“Ponche Kuba’s refreshed packaging is a natural evolution for the brand — one that celebrates our Caribbean roots, enhances our premium credentials, and advances our commitment to sustainability, all while preserving the recipe our consumers know and love,” said Antoine Couvreur, Managing Director at Mount Gay Distilleries, where Ponche Kuba is crafted.

The original liqueur — bottled at 9% ABV and produced at Mount Gay Distilleries in Barbados — remains as indulgent as ever, ideal for sipping neat, over ice, or in tropical cocktails like the Bajan Cream or Kuba Colada.

Ponche Kuba’s newly packaged 700ml bottle will arrive in U.S. stores this November, with additional launches scheduled across the Caribbean, the Netherlands, and the Dominican Republic through 2026.

With its reimagined design and timeless recipe, Ponche Kuba proves that true classics can evolve — without losing the soul that made them iconic.
