Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is giving its European-inspired PILS the royal treatment—now available in what they’re calling “proper pilsner cans.” The new 8-pack of 8.4-ounce cans takes a page straight from European beer culture, where smaller pours are celebrated for keeping each sip perfectly cold, crisp, and flavorful.
As Chief Brewer and second-generation owner Brian Grossman explains, this is more than just a packaging update—it’s about preserving the experience:
“I’ve enjoyed beers all over the world, but there’s something special about a proper pilsner at a European pub. Crisp, refreshing, and served in a smaller glass to keep it at the ideal temperature and flavor—it’s how PILS is meant to be enjoyed.”
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s all-new PILS beer in the 8.4-ounce ‘proper pilsner can.’
PILS first made waves earlier this year as a draft-only release, earning praise for its bright citrusy and floral notes, smooth malt balance, and clean finish. Now, it’s making its way into hands across the country in both draft and can formats. The 4.7% ABV, 25 IBU beer pours a crystal-clear golden hue and pairs beautifully with everything from seafood to charcuterie—an easy favorite for any occasion.
The “proper pilsner” 8-pack (MSRP $12.99) is rolling out now in select markets, with nationwide availability expected in early 2026. It’s a format that feels both refined and fun—a thoughtful nod to the European tradition that inspired the beer in the first place.
“At Sierra Nevada, we believe the details matter,” says Grossman. “That’s why we’ve worked so hard to deliver an optimal drinking experience in each can of PILS.”
