    Position:  Membership and Communications Coordinator

Reporting: Reports directly to the Executive Director

    Status: Full-time, non-exempt salaried

The Membership and Communications Coordinator (MCC) manages all CCBA membership inquiries, including information requests, applications, renewals, cancellations, and concerns. The MCC is responsible for maintaining and updating membership records and supporting member communication activities. Additionally, the MCC plays a key role in association development through sales and outreach, including recruiting new members in all categories, drafting and sending membership communications.

This position supports the development and maintenance of key membership and licensing metrics—such as the total number of active breweries, industry trends, and shifts in ownership groups.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Internal Communications:

Maintain the CCBA’s communications calendar, ensuring timely, strategic coordination of all outgoing communications.
Monitor internal updates and external industry news to identify opportunities for news posts, press releases, and social media content.
Coordinate with the CCBA team to ensure all necessary communications are executed—promoting events, supporting new member outreach, and keeping members informed and engaged.
Compile and distribute the CCBA’s bi-weekly newsletters with input and guidance from the team.
Monitor and maintain CCBA social media accounts—developing new content, posting across platforms, and contributing ideas to support brand voice and visibility.
    Membership:

Track and maintain accurate records of craft breweries in California. This includes monitoring new license issuances, recording any changes to existing licenses, and keeping the CCBA’s internal database up to date.
Process membership inquiries, renewals, and billing
Compile licensure data from the State and provide statistics to the Board
    Administer renewal campaign
Keep member benefit documents up to date and relevant
Oversee member benefit and allied trade programs
    Staff the CCBA Membership Committee
    Governance:

Work closely with the Executive Director to coordinate the CCBA’s Board of Directors elections and committee appointments
Prepare and distribute election materials, communicate with eligible members, and ensure a smooth and organized process from nomination through voting and final announcement
Assist Executive Director with compiling Board of Directors meeting materials
    Administrative:

Retrieve and organize incoming mail. Prepare outgoing mail, overnight shipments, and packaging
Prepare and make bank deposits and maintain accurate digital and physical filing of financial documents
Keep accurate office supply inventories, perform administrative tasks, schedule committee meetings, provide event support, and maintain the systems used to manage these functions
Provide general office administrative support with guidance from the CCBA Executive Director
    Other Duties as Required

Provide government affairs support to the Executive Director as needed, including filing quarterly lobbyist employer reports
Assist CCBA staff with outreach, execution, and potential opportunities of all association events, including fundraising, legislative, conferences, and regional meetings
Provide general organizational support as needed
    REQUIREMENTS

    High school diploma or equivalent
    Strong customer service orientation
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
High level of adaptability and flexibility
    Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    Prior association experience preferred
Due to nature of events hosted by CCBA, the candidate must be 21+ years old
